Bled

Magical and idyllic, that's how I would describe Bled. Who's never been, definitely go, you won't be disappointed. My boyfriend and I found an offer that was very favorable and we visited Bled and Ljubljana in one day, about which I will talk about in the next post. Indeed, there is plenty of time and you can see it all, we had 3 hours of free time in both cities.

What to see in Bled? Apart from being situated on the beautiful Lake Bled (local Blejsko jezero), on the lake is a small island with the church and wishing bell which binds to interesting legend about Poliksena and her love story. The island can be reached by boat driven by local residents, but we had to leave that for another time.

What is really worth is to climb to the Bled castle, it took us about 10-15 min, and a view of the mountains, the city and the lake will not leave you indifferent.

Visiting Bled can't be complete without tasting the Bled cream cake which Slovenes say that originally comes from Bled. We tried it on the terrace of the Hotel Park with a superb view of the lake and castle. Otherwise, at every entrance to the hotel, cafe or pastry shop they have a sticker if they offer a cream cake with the original recipe and the same would have to be the size of 7x7 cm. It was delicious and we are definitely going back!
